I read elsewhere online that you can do a hard reset on the battery but, it requires taking it apart. It has never overheated or shown any kind of strange issues other than what I am currently experiencing with the bike. So, maybe someone here can help or advise why battery loses its edge. I sent one letter outlining my current issues. I bought a 2 yr warranty on the bike and I sent one letter praising how well it ran and they replied with all kinds of gratitude. So, I am wondering whats wrong with this picture? My guess Ecotric probably doesn't read these reviews yet, if they do I would like a response. Yet, now it shows a considerable drain after a 5 or maybe 8 mile run. The battery ran down to 2.5 bars which was expected. I wonder which parts are waterproof? They claim they are good for 20 miles on a charge yet, I went on a 14 mile jaunt to and from beach which I live only 7 miles away. I only got caught in a storm moment once at the last 1/4 mile to home. Overall operation runs fine and on peddle assist I can run it up to almost 28 mph however, it doesn't take long until the battery starts losing its charge by a few bars. Another problem is condensation gets in the display module during hot humid days but, it eventually burns off. I have only put about 100 miles total on it so far. Yet, I am noticing lately my battery draining by one bar after only 5 miles usage. I live in Florida so mostly everything is flat no hills. I wonder if you have a 500w motor wouldn't you need a 500w battery? I find also for the first month I had it and I mostly use the peddle assist and only use the throttle when crossing streets.
I ordered a 500w and maybe that only explains the motor output but, I received a 450w 12.5 v battery. I have a Cheetah fat tire mountain ebike and it works like a champ however, a question that I can't get answered by ecotric nor any replies on my inquiries.
